Re-visiting an applique project

Last year I started working on this BOM. Wait, it might've been the year before. Anyway, I did most of the blocks while sitting in the waiting room while Dad had his hyperbaric oxygen treatments. Which, by the way, helped to save his toe. But, I digress...These blocks started as a project at our LQS and there are several of us that have been working on them. I think there are at least two girls that have theirs finished or almost finished. I carry the next block in my bag everywhere I go just in case I have time to work on it. Needless to say, I haven't found that time in a while. Even while in the waiting rooms after Dad's heart attack I couldn't find the desire to work on it for very long. But, I certainly hope to continue working on them, slowly but surely.

There are twelve blocks, total, and the borders even have some applique. My good friend, Sheryl, made all the transparencies for me so I have no excuse. I love doing needle-turn and this project has certainly proved colorful enough to keep me from getting bored. I just get lazy to cut out the pieces.

I thought I'd show you these squares since others in the blogring have posted some of their applique and it got me thinking about these.

I've been working on the heart quilt and have only two more rows to attach before I bind it. I hope to mail it out tomorrow, Monday, right after show and tell at my quilt group meeting.

Busy day at work yesterday. Am certainly looking forward to Leota coming back. Dad is having a little problem with his breathing..I'm going to take him into Urgent Care this afternoon to see if maybe his pneumonia has made a comeback. The sooner they get him back on antibiotics, the better.

WOW...these blocks are so beutiful. You have to finish them. But I understand it can be difficult if you have bad memories with them.

The blocks look gorgeous and the fabric makes the flowers look alive! I wish your father the best.

Your blocks are stunning. You must finish it soon! It's too pretty not to make up in a quilt to enjoy!

What a wonderful quilt! Your blocks are turning out beautifully. This is one you definitely must finish, though I can certainly understand the need to put them away for awhile - as I've done with my Baltimore blocks. This will be a head turner when it is finished!
