Tablerunners

The first runner is made with some of the orphan blocks I talked about in an earlier post. The turkey runner is one I've wanted to make for a long time. I'd seen one done at a local show but I never had gotten the instructions. I think it was a freebie pattern on the Hancock site several years ago. A friend took pity on me and loaned me her copy. I'm not sure what I want to do for the quilting on this one. Those "quilt as you go" projects sure are a lot easier for me to do these days. Anyone have any suggestions?

My Advent quilt is coming along slowly. I've made two more little quilt tops. I want to put the other eight together and then finish them all at once. Adding the borders, batting and backing goes really fast when you do them all together. If I could get them done by Friday, I'd take them with me to finish the binding. Jim, Dad and I are headed to Ruidoso on Friday afternoon.

Time to fix dinner and get ready to go to the gym. Have lost two pounds in the last two weeks. If I could do that all the time, I'd be happy.

Things are a little slow at work. Only 3 months 'til Christmas though, so the perm cycle will begin again soon. In the meantime, I'm taking advantage of being able to come home early to sew. Posted by Picasa

The runners both look wonderful but that turkey is adorable! How about just cross hatching it--maybe about two inches apart?? That always works well for fill work. And you need to look at the United Notions site I posted on my blog this afternoon--there is a really cool runner that I would even consider making, LOL.
