Back to quilt-as-you-go

These are six blocks of twenty four that I plan on quilting then putting together ala reversible quilt method. These blocks are from a block exchange on QOR back a few years ago. I think it was called the EOW exchange, or the End of Winter exchange. I think that's the one. All I know is they've been sitting in a pile of blocks for quite some time now and they needed some attention. So, tonight before I went to the gym, and while I was fixing dinner, I cut background squares and batting squares and layered all twenty four of them. That way I can pick one up and just quilt it any chance I have. Then, once they're all quilted, I'll start putting them together. I think there will be enough blocks that I won't have to border it. We'll see. I really enjoy doing it this way because it gives me a chance to try new quilting motifs. I do use a lot of the same motifs especially in center squares. I'd like to find something else to use, but the "flower" I use now is so simple and goes quickly.

Good news tonight! My youngest son, Robert the golfer, finally got a job working with a computer guy here in town. He's been working for my sister at Community Homecare, but he was only biding his time there. He's so hoping to be able to put his Business Computer Systems degree to use. This guy is even willing to work with him when Rob starts playing in some of the professional golf tournaments in the area.

Does anyone else have trouble getting paragraphs when posting? I separate them but they don't show up in the final post.

Busy day at work. Two of the girls were out so I was hopping all day. Luckily, Clint made a great beef stew so I had something for lunch without having to beg someone to make a burrito run. I know, I should be brown-bagging it so as to stick to some type of diet, but...

We did make it to the gym again tonight. Feels good after it quits hurting. lol But, I'm tired and have a long, busy day tomorrow. But, a massage at the end of the day will be waiting for me!!

Your quilting on the blocks looks really great!

I skip a line between paragraphs - seems to be the easiest solution.

Enjoy your massage!

I looked at the code on your page, your paragraphs are ended with [/div][div] [/div][div] (I've replaced the actual coding of < with [ etc.) When I looked at the code on one of my posts, paragraphs are ended with the old break paragraph of [br /][br /] where the second one is a blank paragraph.

The only thing I can tell you is to go into your html (there is a tab on your create post page) when you have created your post and before clicking publish and manually add the code. Remember to substitute < for [ and > for ].

I wonder why I have to type in 3 different word verifications when I try to leave a comment on your blog?

You are doing beautiful machine quilting. I particularly liked the feathers you did on the red star. All of it looks good, though.

When you are doing the html check, you can just use [p] (with < and > instead of [ and ]) at the end of where you want it to break and paragraph.

Gym? You lucky! I hope to find a good one in Texas, maybe a Curves so I can use it elsewhere. I have to investigate where I can go for just a month or two.

There are a lot of blogs on blogger where I have to enter the varification 3 and 4 times.

I have the same problem and it makes me nuts. As patti said, sometimes I just add a double space too. I'll try to figure out what paula said. Now if someone will figure out how to sign in and STAY signed .....

Quilt as you go is a great way to try out new quilitng patterns. I don't know why I don't do it more .I seem to get all caught up in the piecing and before I know it I have a full sized quilt to work on. Maybe on my next one... I love the quilting you have done on your blocks.

I have been meaning to give QAYG a try. Have got lots of pieces of batting lying about the place so that could be a way of using them up. One of your red and white blocks is in the current quilt. Oh and re HTML. When you create a post use the compose box, rather than the html and type as normal.

You do a great job with the QAYG and it is good to see those blocks getting put to use.

Good too that Rob has found a position there in town. Wahoo! Is he still staying with your dad during the recovery phase?

I put the (p) with < instead of ( in when mine is playing up.
